Jump Start Dog Sports in Yorba Linda, CA is pleased to announce the following three upcoming Workshops presented by Vita Allison and wanted to invite each of you to participate!

Master Rally Workshop – Followed by a 2-Ring Rally Show-n-Go

This workshop is open to all Rally enthusiasts from Novice through Master level, and will cover the following topics:

January 27, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (in the back field at Jump Start Dog Sports):

1) We will review the Rally Master Class Signs
2) Strategies for fun and success in Rally’s exciting new top level
3) How increased precision and crisper responses impact your score.
4) When to repeat a station – or not!!
5) Discuss NEW Rule changes that take effect on February 1, 2019
6) You’ll have the opportunity to practice exercises and run courses!

Rally Show-n-Go – 2 Rings, Judges: Vita Allison & Manuel Gudiño

January 27, 2019 from 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (in the back field at Jump Start Dog Sports):

  • Ring #1 – Master course 1-2 pm, Novice course 2:30-3:30pm.
  • Ring #2 – Excellent course 1-2 pm, Advanced course 2:30-3:30 pm

Pricing: $10/run CASH only. No preregistration required!

February 10th, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.  Intro to Rally: Understanding the AKC Signs, Strategies for Success, & What You Need to Know to Get Your Title(s)!

This workshop is designed for both new and continuing Rally enthusiasts, and will cover the following topics:

2) Learn how to develop effective trial strategies when walking a course.
3) What you need to know to get your Rally title(s).

Introduction to Tracking Workshop

Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (held in the back field at Jump Start Dog Sports).

This workshop is open to all dog enthusiasts who are interested in learning the basics of tracking and will cover the following topics:
• Why tracking is a great sport for almost everyone
• Training a “deep nose” for a solid foundation
• Article indication
• Line handling
• Personalizing your training plan for success
• And of course …… plenty of Q & A

Vita Allison is one of Southern California’s first AKC Rally judges.  She continues to exhibit and do all she can to popularize the sport.  Vita is always learning new training techniques and would love to help you master the sport of Rally Obedience.

Vita is fascinated by the science of scent and is always learning new training techniques for tracking.  She has written numerous articles to help people get started tracking, many of which were published in Dog Sport Magazine.  She would really enjoy introducing you & your dog to tracking!!

Vita grew up showing in conformation and participating in many dog sports.  She has titled over 30 dogs of different breeds in AKC and other venues, often achieving the highest awards and national rankings.  She has been successful in multiple sports including competition obedience, coursing, herding, tracking, protection, and of course Rally with breeds like Borzoi, Whippets, Boxer, Doberman, Schipperke, Parson, and most recently her Australian Shepherd.
