Selecting the Right Toy(s) for Your Puppy (Part 2 of 3)

Selecting the Right Toy(s) for Your Puppy (continued):

What is a stuffed Kong? It is a heavy-duty rubberized toy that can be stuffed with good things like carrots, dog treats, cheerios, cream cheese, peanut butter, bananas and other healthy foods. The puppy will use his jaws, teeth, and tongue to get at all the tasty treats inside. Ice cubes and
frozen rope toys on the other hand, just feel good on inflamed gums.

With each toy on the market, you will hear that they are the best toy or that someone knows someone whose dog practically died because of the very same toy.

When you give your dog a new toy, supervise his play. If he tears it to pieces you know not to get that kind of toy again – or if you do, use it for interactive play between you and him. What a great motivator!

Probably the only toys to leave with your unsupervised puppy would be Kong or rope toys.
